The Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) is the gold standard for vocational teaching in India. To thrive in the 2026 admission cycle, staying informed on the evolving competition and requirements is your first step to success.

1. Eligibility & Entry Requirements

  • Technical Background: ITI (NTC), NAC, Diploma, or Degree in relevant engineering/non-engineering trades.
  • SCVT Recognition: SCVT certificate holders are now fully eligible for NCVT-CITS programs.
  • Final Year Policy: Appearing candidates in mid-2026 can apply (Provisional Admission).
  • Age Criteria: Minimum 16 years. No Upper Age Limit

2. AICET Entrance Pattern

The All India Common Entrance Test is a speed-based Computer Based Test (CBT).

Section Marks Focus Areas
Technical Theory 75 NCVT Syllabus (Fitter, Electrician, COPA, etc.)
Quant Aptitude 15 10th Level Maths, Percentages, Ratio
Logical Reasoning 10 Analogies, IQ, Series Completion
Note: 1 Mark per question. Zero Negative Marking.

3. Annual Fee Structure

4. Step-by-Step Counseling

Phase 01
Choice Filling

Select top 5 preferred NSTI/ITOT institutes via the NIMI portal post-results.

Phase 02
Counseling Fee Payment

Deposit non-refundable ₹1,000 (Adjustable in final admission fee).

Phase 03
Seat Allotment

Automated merit-based allocation based on AICET rank and category.

Phase 04
Provisional Admission

Physical verification at your nearest NSTI to lock your seat.

5. Document Checklist

Please keep 2 sets of self-attested photocopies along with original documents.
  • AICET Hall Ticket & Result Rank Card
  • Academic Marksheets (8th/10th/12th)
  • Technical Certs (ITI/Diploma/Degree)
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Aadhaar Card or Valid Govt ID
  • Passport size Photos (Min 6 copies)
